Wat Phra Kaew at night...........

As I write this post, plans are being made for my return to the Kingdom of  Thailand. Montana Fly Company president and founder Adam Trina is bringing me back to finish work on our film Thai One On: The River Ngao.  I can hardly wait, more Asian mayhem with the MFC boys.

Gearin' Up at Herntai
One of my favourite places that we visited in Thailand was Herntai Resort (to see pics scroll down). Great food, dirty cheap and plenty of ambience. The fire timelapse scene (post below) was also shot at Herntai. Here Adam Trina gears up for a day of Mahseer fishing with Kris Keller stringing up in the background.

Shooting with the Canon 7D
Despite all apperances we actually did manage to shoot some Mahseer fishing. Above Greg Cunningham and Adam Trina wait for me to roll while having a beer. That seemed to happen a lot? Just after this Kris Keller tried an unsuccessful "Hackle Tackle" on one of the village's rooster's.  Keep trying KK, you'll get your feathers sooner or later. My advice? Break out the guide net.

Totally MacGrubered
I've posted this photo before but now that I'm at home and have time to photoshit some stuff up here it is. Yup I'm totally MacGrubered in this photo and so is the mini spy cam in the top of hat. Spy cam handywork courtesy of  Adam Trina owner and founder of Montana Fly Company. Trina  invited me to Thailand under the pretense of filming some Mahseer fishing and then quickly hi-jacked the film project  into a Hunter S. Thompson-esque tour of Bangkok's seamer side. The 'Kok as Adam is fond of calling it, sucked us in and held us under.  Everything in Bangkok is ILLEGAL (that is anything worth doing there) and so we needed to find a way to get it on film. Look for it in an upcoming short tentatively titled Thai One On: The River Ngao.

Hold that shit up dude.........

Toured two temples today, Wat Phra Kaew at the Grand Palace. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (actually made from Jade). Pretty impressive, then wandered over to Khao Sahn back packers heaven. Then wandered around till I found another Wat.

Herntai

I'm staying here at Herntai in the jungle of northwestern Thailand. Last night we drove the 3 hours from Chaing Mai stopping here overnight on our way to Mae Ngao"The River of Shadows" This place is in incredible, except for some barking soi dog this morning at 5am and roosters crowing at 4am. Still the price is right, I think I was told it's 20baht a night for our stay. Which works out to something like less than a buck a person. Thailand this place is CRAZY.   More Later   T> Editor's note : JET LAG got to me for a second. Price for Herntai is 20 dollars, not 20 baht. Still 20 bucks are you kidding me? Thailand.

Over Weight Baggage

Sitting in the Vancouver Airport right now awaiting my flight to Seoul South Korea. Part two of my multi-legged journey to hook up with Adam Trina and the guys from Montana Fly Company in Chaing Mai, Thailand.  Filming for Spring Creek is on hiatus for the winter and Adam invited me to check out the Mahseer fishing in Thailand, so I said I'm in. So I'm Bangkok or Bust. More Later T>
